Perform appropriate history, screenings, mental health assessment, and physical
examination of patient populations across the lifespan.
● Interpret findings from the history, mental health assessment, and physical findings
accurately, identifying normal, normal variant, and pathological findings.
● Develop differential diagnoses of the psychiatric disorders, and determine any necessary
diagnostic tests (including laboratory tests).
● Develop treatment plans that include pharmacological agents and non-pharmacologic
modalities appropriate to the diagnosis in concert with the preceptor.
● Demonstrate the ability to provide appropriate treatment plans and interventions for mental
health issues across the lifespan.
● Provide client/parent/family education regarding health promotion, anticipatory guidance,
mental health management and disease prevention for clients across the lifespan.
● Develop and implement a plan of care for acute and chronic mental health concerns across
the lifespan in concert with the preceptor
